ARGO system: Focus on sustainability

Author

Competitiveness, innovation, sustainability: these are the 3 pillars at the base of European and national policies that aim at a modern and efficient development, in which economic growth is dissociated from the use of resources, in which neither places nor individuals are neglected or left back, in which greenhouse gas emissions are gradually reduced to reach a zero climate impact for the European Union by 2050.

The path traced by the European Green Deal that strengthens and guides the green transition, rests on well-defined lines of action:

investing in environmentally friendly technologies; support industry in innovation; focus on cleaner, cheaper and healthier forms of transport; decarbonising the energy sector; ensure greater energy efficiency of buildings; improve environmental standards.

ARGO, the new industrial system of Friuli Venezia Giulia based on the innovation of processes and products capable of increasing economic productivity through the interaction between research and industry, moves within this strategic reference framework, preparing concrete measures to support industrial investments innovative, to promote the circular economy and green forms of transport

The ARGO System arises from the agreement between the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, the Ministry of University and Research and the Ministry of Economic Development, which has identified the coordinator of the activities in the Science Park Area and is based on 4 initiatives:

  1. experimentation with industrial settlement models that support sustainable innovation
  2. the creation of a business generation center with a high rate of innovation
  3. the activation of a platform to support the digitalization of businesses
  4. the creation of scientific and technological platforms open to companies wishing to make use of highly specialized infrastructures, tools and skills to carry out innovation projects.
